Can I manage my Home Care Package myself?

No, under the new Support at Home program starting November 2025, which replaces Home Care Packages, services must be delivered through registered providers. You will need to work with an approved provider who will help coordinate your care and manage your funding, though you can still have input into your care choices.

What happens to my existing Home Care Package?

If you currently have a Home Care Package or are on the waiting list, you will automatically transition to the Support at Home program on November 1, 2025. You won’t need to be reassessed to enter the program, and if you’re a grandfathered recipient (receiving services before September 12, 2024), you’ll pay the same or lower contributions than under your previous package.

How will my care be managed under Support at Home?

Under Support at Home, you’ll work with a registered provider who will create a care plan and manage your quarterly budget. The provider must include all service costs in their published prices, including administration and worker wages. They cannot charge separately for package management or travel. Your provider will help coordinate your care while ensuring you understand your participant contributions.
