Can I receive CHSP services while waiting for a Home Care Package?
Yes, you can continue to receive CHSP services while waiting for a Home Care Package. The Commonwealth Home Support Program will continue to operate as a separate program until at least July 2027, serving both existing clients and new clients with low-level needs.
What happens to my CHSP services when Support at Home starts?
When Support at Home begins on November 1, 2025, Home Care Package recipients and those on the waiting list will automatically transition to the new program. However, CHSP will continue operating separately until at least July 2027, when it will then transition to Support at Home.
Will I need to be reassessed to keep receiving services?
If you’re currently receiving a Home Care Package or are on the waiting list, you won’t need to be reassessed when transitioning to Support at Home. However, if you want to access additional CHSP services as a Support at Home participant, you’ll need to be assessed through My Aged Care for approval.
